Biography: Pacino di Bonaguida’s only signed painting was an altarpiece done for the Accademia Gallery in Florence. Based on this work, scholars have pieced together other details of his life and career and attributed many other paintings to the artist. He worked in Florence for the duration of his career and also painted miniatures and decorations for illuminated manuscripts. He is credited with having invented miniaturism.
